Frazzle, our beloved Golden Retriever, was the inspiration behind the name Turf-Dawg. When Frazzle was a young pup, he loved to eat the lawn, and I would chase him around the yard trying to get him to stop. Knowing how much he loved the grass—and the fact that he didn’t have shoes to protect him from chemicals—was always a concern. That’s what first made me question the use of unnecessary chemicals on the lawn.
We’ve always had dogs in our family, but Frazzle was extra special. Last December, after nearly 15 years of love and loyalty, Frazzle crossed the Rainbow Bridge. He lived a long, wonderful life and truly enjoyed being out in the yard. Like many Goldens, he loved rolling around on his back in the grass. I like to think it was because of the lush, green lawn—but either way, I always knew the lawn was safe.
